IgniFund was founded in early 2025 by South Africans who've walked the journey of financial exclusion in higher education themselves. After evaluating the current socioeconomic landscape — full of business models built in other countries and retrofitted to ours — our founders saw a gap that the existing insurance industry simply does not fill.
With a myriad of talented youth left to fend for themselves, and having experienced firsthand the financial hurdles in today's higher education, our founders built IgniFund as a combination of insurance innovation, financial literacy, and education support — to help families plan smarter, dream bigger, and secure lasting opportunities.
